OCD Works BMW F10 S63TU head studs are the only high-performance fastening solution for the BWM F10 S36TU platform. When pushing the S63TU to power levels that are double what the factory intended, many people contacted us for a solution for lifting cylinder heads and head gasket failures.
From the factory, the S63TU cylinder heads are inefficiently designed for the large displacement bottom end, featuring poorly-flowing exhaust ports which create detrimentally-excessive cylinder pressure and temperature, as well as unwanted exhaust back pressure.
The factory head bolts are quickly prone to stretch as they are note engineered with constant clamping force. In stock or near stock applications, this design and material oversight is inconsequential, but we recognized the need for a better product to ensure reliability at significantly increased power levels.
Not only do we want a better product, but we want to understand why the factory components are not suited for the task. We closely inspected both factory new bolts and our proprietary ARP 2000 studs to determine their composition using laboratory-grade PMI (positive material inspection) equipment.
After close examination of these parts, the metallurgical limitations of the stock bolts were clear, and so were the motivations for a better, more reliable solution. $40 per set of factory bolts is too good to be true for real performance, and the exact reason why we developed our head stud kit.
Given our long-time and ongoing race engine partnership with legendary ARP fasteners, they custom made the first batch of prototype Pro 2000 head studs to our specifications. Every rebuilt, blue printed, or race engine should always use high-quality fasteners to make sure your engine will stay together as intended.

When combined with our OCD Works S63TU CNC head-porting program, the end results will head will be much smoother transitional power, a much larger tuning window, much better airflow throughout the cylinder head, and of course, much greater overall power!
ARP2000 is a heavily alloyed martensitic quench and temper steel, initially developed for use in steam power plants. As such it has excellent stability at high temperatures. But most important, ARP research discovered that in addition to temperature stability it has excellent notch toughness in the higher strength ranges and is alloyed to be tempered to Rc44/47.  ARP2000 is tempered above that temperature range and has a strength between 200,000 and 220,000 psi.
We tested this kit on our own car, and worked for 40K miles worth of daily driven at 600+HP level, and sold over 200+ kits and many of guys using our ARP studs kit on their S63TU. We Had some A customer who complained about our design and material to be used, which We do not manufacture studs here and ARP made it. If our kit does not work then, those customers car should not be on the road either nor our own car ran over 40k+ miles when we own the car.
We do not ship oversea on this product. Only be sold within USA No question asked.
Our stud kit Only for professional personal only, self claim one should not be using to put it together engines at all.
Our stud kit has No return policy available. Only manufacture defect ( This means, if nut is wrong, stud is bend, which we check all of those before we ship , Therefore, unless cross threaded by handler or drop it can only be damage the kit).

Stud Manufacture Steps
  1. Cutoff from wire or bar stock
  2. Heat Treat
  3. Machining - centerless grinding to ensure concentricity
  4. Thread Rolling
  5. Shot Peening - to remove stress risers
  6. Metal Finishing - Black Oxide coated, or in the case of Stainless, polishing
  7. Packing - studs are coated to prevent surface corrosion prior to packing and storage
Nut Manufacture Steps
  1. Cutoff from wire or bar stock
  2. Heat Treat
  3. Forging
  4. Threading
  5. Shot Peening - to remove stress risers
  6. Metal Finishing - Black Oxide coated, or in the case of Stainless, polishing
  7. Packing - nuts are coated to prevent surface corrosion prior to packing and storage
